Match report (EN)

After a lunch break, the match got underway at BCG. The spirits were soaring and the pace duo of Sricharan and Rakibul were raring to go; the former bowling teasing outswingers while the latter sticking to a threatening wicket-to-wicket line. A lot was happening out there in the middle but the edges weren’t finding the fielders though. However, Rakibul struck in his second over claiming two wickets in two balls. He turned up like he hadn’t missed a beat since September last year. Sricharan joined in the next over successfully appealing for an lbw and a while later, Rakibul claimed his third wicket. The hosts were 42/4 off 10 overs when the seamers finished their respective 5 over spells. Captain Alfar decided to continue with pace and brought in Usman and Nuzmul to hunt in pairs. A wise decision and immediate success as Sricharan held a sharp catch at point off the bowling of Usman. Nazmul continued his dream debut striking timber in his second over and getting the batsman caught lbw in his third over. Meanwhile, Usman claimed his second victim as Alfar held on to a regulation catch. LCC now just needed 2 more wickets for a memorable victory and it was not long before the Jiffry brothers cleaned up the tail. Aditya held on to a catch off Florian’s bowling while Flavien made a roaring appeal for lbw convincing the umpire that the ball would reach the stumps. End result – 12 Stars CC bowled out for 85 and LCC win by 69 runs !!!

What a wonderful start to the season winning the first away game!!. It all holds immense promise for Saturday, when LCC take on Francilien CC in its first Coupe de France ecounter.
